The 275 mm sq. 37 kW Servo motor has both high torque and high acceleration which makes it optimal to perform the actions necessary in both the fully electric and the hybrid electric injection molding machines. Electric IMMs are proven to be highly efficient and capable machines when compared to their hydraulic counterparts. Fully-electric machines, where the electric energy is directly converted into kinetic energy, have by far the best energy efficiency. Since there is no transformation from electric energy to hydraulic pressure and then to kinetic energy the fully electric system has very little, if any, wasted energy.
